Description of the group
Chiracon is an experienced and independent, privately owned company with in-house technology comprising pharmaceutical and analytical laboratories. The company was founded 1998 in Luckenwalde, close to Berlin. The activities of
Chiracon are focused on RD, up-scaling and manufacturing of advanced chiral intermediates and active ingredients for the pharmaceutical industry. Serving as a bridge between medicinal chemistry and full-scale manufacturing,
Chiracon provides process research services with a core competency in the rapid supply of APIs according to Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP).
The participation in
INDOX will be led by Dr.
Ralf Zuhse, CEO of the company. The team has three senior scientists, Dr.
Thomas von Schrader (Chemistry, scale-up), Dr.
Stephan Quint (Chemistry, development) and Dr.
Tahrani (Pharmacy, analytics and quality control).
Main role in INDOX
Chiracon participation in
INDOX includes the selection of promising target products and the synthesis of starting materials for the research activities including the analytical validation of the resulting products. In many cases it will be necessary to synthesize the corresponding enantiomers as reference substances and the development of methods for the determination of enantiomeric purity. Further contribution will be the evaluation of peroxygenases and oxidases for the synthesis and the scale up of the technical processes provided by partners.
